Description: Photograph caption dated September 16, 1959 reads "Albert Marshall, right, of Marshall Construction Co., and his superintendent, R. B. Leek, look at minute sea shells embedded in rock unearthed as new home foundations were being dug in Encino. Pierce Junior College geologist stated that sea fossils were more than million years old, dating back to era when earth was covered with water."
