Description
The Helping Hand Hall served as the community center for the residents of Englishtown at New Almaden. The mine manager initiated the construction of the Hall. It featured a large social hall, or club room, a library and reading room, and kitchen facilities. The Hall hosted Christmas parties and other community events. Note on back: "Center table left, Chas. O'Brien, Francis Myers (builder of Casa Grande), Mr. De Witte, right" Title: "'Helping Hand' club room, Hill. Winn-Bulmore 1800's"
