Dedan Kariuki Wangai worked at Chogoria from 1933 to 1953, when he joined the Government Public Works Department in Nyeri his wife Rachel was the daughter of the Rev. Solomon Ndambi, a previous parish minister at Chogoria Miss Mary A Mowat was in charge of the girls' boarding school and became Supervisor of Schools for a short period Silas Muchina, an evangelist minister, worked the Chuka district for the Chogoria mission. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1947-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established near Mt Kenya, in 1922, and run by Dr Irvine.
