Photograph article dated May 20, 1965 partially reads, "Los Angeles Civic Light Opera audiences can see an ice ballet in a sequence of the British musical 'Pickwick,' continuing through July 24. A portable ice rink is frozen over before every performance at the Music Center, and then the ice is covered with special flooring, to make up the balance of the stage. This special flooring is removed by the performers as the rink is put to use."
