Photograph caption dated February 5, 1958 reads "Deputy Roland Barton raises pole-toting helicopter from Chatsworth field on way to mountain delivery point. Pole was clamped to belly of helicopter and released over pre-selected spot in mountains. Clamp which holds pole is also used to carry plastic water tank for drop during fires. Helicopter pilots say handling craft in tricky mountain air currents is dangerous, but best way to do pole-placing job." See images 00155771 through 00155774 for all photos in this series.
