Description
The mud Creek Glacier. On the left skyline is Thumb Rock central point in the summit of Shasta. The head of the glacier has an elevation of 12,000 ft. and the snout about 10,000 ft. This lower end is a great half circle estimated 2,500 ft. long by 250 ft. high. The chasm is about 1,000 ft. deep. This river of ice is deeply covered with a moraine of glacial sand. This angle is very steep.
