"Elim: Die Kirche. Links dahinter Geschw. Wills Haus." ("Elim: The church. Left in the back Brethren Will's house."). The picture shows a church building consisting of two parts. In the front a small building. Probably a plaque hangs between the two windows on the longer side of the building. Next to and connected to it a big L-shaped building. Both buildings have a thatched roof. Next to the big building a round arch with a bell. On the right side of the picture a fenced area. Behind it bushes and trees. On the left behind the church another L-shaped building with a fence around it. Behind it trees. Written on the card board: "16.2.34. P. Theile." There is a white scratch on the left side of the picture. -- Samuel Will (1867, Königsfeld - 1957, ?) started working in the mission service in Elim in 1893. He was a businessman in Elim and a member of the Provincial Conference. In the process of making the mission work self-supporting he became inspector of all the businesses. 1902 he united all small Moravian stores and other business undertakings in the "Business Department of the Moravian Mission Society in South Africa-West", called "SAW Handel". It is not known until when he worked and where he died.
