Most of the buildings visible are large rectangular buildings with flat roofs or low warehouse-type structures. Several tall smokestacks can be seen in the background at right. The back of a sign held up by scaffolding can be seen in the foreground at left, while a tall, snow-topped mountain range is visible in the background at left. Legible signs include, from left: "Good Eats Café Ground Floor this Building Always Open", "For Space in this Building Apply Room 620", "Rapid Addressing Machine Co. Belknap System", "Jaffe and Jaffe Advertising Agency", "California Importing & Jobbing Co.", "Koenig Co. Church Goods", and "D. M. & E. Walter & Co. Domestic and Oriental Rugs Carpets and Linoleum".
