Group portrait under a big tree from left: Dafa Jammoo, Hermann Hornbostel with dog, and his two apprentices Ciibsaa Dangalaa and Qaciisaa. Hermann Hornbostel (1913-1985) was a carpenter. He served the Hermannsburg mission in Ethiopia from 1934 to 1941 and from 1951 to 1956. He was interned by the British from 1942 to 1948. Hornbostel was married to Gertrud, née Tangermann.
