Description: Their tiny faces beaming with joy, a group of children rush into a playground to enjoy their first day of two week Christmas vacation from school. The City Recreation and Park Department has arranged hundreds of feature activities for the youngsters. This is their first day of freedom from books since September. Photo dated: December 20, 1948.
