Written on back: "The old Ferry Bldg., foot of Market St., about 1879. No cable cars ran on Market St. until 1883 (note horse cars). (The new present Ferry Bldg. was opened in July, 1898.) Completed in 1877. Cost $98,484. The Ferry boats formerly sailed from Pacific St. Wharf.
Stamp on back: "Gabriel Moulin Photo, Feb. 16, 1938".
