New hillside roads have been constructed as detours for traffic from the Valley to Hollywood while construction of the Cahuenga Pass section is in progress. Road at left is the present route for the northbound traffic. Inbound traffic uses the detour shown at right. This picture, looking south, was taken from Pilgrimage Bridge. When the Cahuenga Pass section is completed, traffic from the city will flow directly into Cahuenga Freeway. Dated December 26, 1953.
