Description
Photograph of a Spanish (Mexican?) lighthouse at Point Loma, San Diego, ca.1922. An automobile is pictured rounding the curve of a dirt road to the left, with the lighthouse pictured to the right, a two-story adobe building with a metal cage extending from its top. A single window is visible on the narrow side of the main building, to the right of the wall's center. A sign in the cage reads "U.S. Post Exchange / Lunches Cold Drinks Cigars". Hills are visible low in the background, suggesting that the lighthouse is positioned in a high area, near a cliff.
