Description
Henley announces that the recent construction for granary works shops is nearing completion. He plans on cultivating turnips, cabbage, beets, onions, parsnips, and potatoes. As a consequence, the consumption of beef and wheat will decrease. He mentions renting a farm to Capt V. Healler. D.A. Engart has been appointed as a special agent in the vicinity. Fishing as a provision from the San Joaquin is mentioned. He still plans on relocating the Indians to Nevada, but is only willing to do so under their own volition or under extreme circumstances. He mentions that SP. Storms was appointed special agent and speaks the language of Indians and has resided amongst them since 1849.
