Description
Thought for the day by Charles Handy on remembering the dignity and worth of all people, no matter their state in life. Handy begins the article discussing how a chance encounter with an impoverished individual, and his reluctance to assist the person, made Handy ashamed and questioning his impulses to turn away from those in need. He then reflects on an earlier time in which he recalls being snubbed by a high level executive, and realizes that he had just done the same thing to the beggar in making assumptions about him. Handy concludes that it is always worthwhile to acknowledge the humanity of others.
