Photograph caption date stamped August 8, 1962 reads, "Sherman Oaks Eastern Little League, winner of the District 40 crown, and the equivalent of the greater Los Angeles-Ventura title, opens play Thursday in the area playoffs at Santa Monica Little League Field.
