Vyola Jane Garrett, 23, fighting for her home, child and a divorce won all three from estranged husband Lloyd Porter Garrett, 28. Although her husband was the one to originally file suit on grounds of cruelty, it was Mrs. Garrett who won the decree on a cross-complaint. She won the right to live in the couple's home as well as winning custody of their 4-year-old daughter in addition to a $50 monthly child support. Photograph dated November 25, 1947.
