Photograph shows two little girls sitting at a child size table playing with toys. A woman is watching them while pushing open a door. On verso: " Ladies Day Out." Ladies' Day Out would become the signature of the YWCA of the 1950's. It initially met Wednesdays for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Schofield Hall. Classes, or "interest groups," were standard YW: sewing, rug braiding... But the main draw wasn't crafts. It was an innovation that later generations would call child care.
