Description
This early 1950s photograph shows the following Third Street businesses: McMenamins Barber Shop at 1006 Third Street, opened in the 1930s by Patrick L. McMenamin, the Horse Shoe Cafe at 1008 Third Street, and the Karachi Hotel at 1010 Third Street which operated as a rooming house beginning in the 1880s.
These buildings are among those lost to the midcentury redevelopment of Sacramento's West End.
