Title supplied by cataloger. Exterior view of Security Trust and Savings Bank at 102-110 Pine Ave. in Long Beach. It sits between S.J. Abrams, Tailor, on the left and hotels on the right, and stands on the site of the old sheepherder's hut which was the first house in Long Beach. Built in 1924, it is a classic Beaux Arts building. Divided into three parts of base, midsection, and attic, it is faced in contrasting light marble and dark red brick and crowned with a classical cornice. The three-story base has a recessed entryway behind giant Corinthian columns. The ornament is classically derived.; Built between 1923 and 1925, it was designed by architects Curlett and Beelman. Raymond Granite Co. was contractor for the granite and limestone work. The building has a polished granite base and Indiana limestone walls, pilasters, and columns; the carved caps of the pilasters are terra cotta. The caps of the two free-standing columns at the entrance are limestone. The walls of the entrance vestibule have polished granite base and limestone above.
