Description
Watercolor painting by retired architect, Leonard F. Starks, of a barn on a hill in the area of the Deterding Ranch. Charles W. and Mary Deterding were the first residents of the Carmichael Colony. In 1907 they purchased 425 acres along the north bank of the American River which became Deterding Ranch, and later Ancil Hoffman Park.
