Photograph caption dated March 26, 1985 reads, "Cambodian refugee and non-actor Dr. Haing S. Ngor initially raised his Oscar in joy, then backstage movingly recalled his own tortures." Ngor won the Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dith Pran in 'The Killing Fields' at the 57th Academy Awards were held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on March 25, 1985.
