Photograph caption dated November 13, 1957 reads "Flowers and good wishes provided an assist in opening of a new branch for the San Fernando Valley Federal Savings and Loan Association office at 402 S. Brand Blvd., San Fernando. From left for ribbon cutting ceremonies were James W. Wilson, manager; Mayor Dan G. Spencer, W. P. Whitsett, Van Nuys developer; A. C. Newell, vice president for Federal Home Loan and Elvin Schmidt, president of the San Fernando Chamber of Commerce."
