Photograph shows Basil Stadnik, 43, who was involved in a traffic accident resulting in the death of Mrs. Florence Purvis Laino, 37. The accident occurred as Mrs. Bea D'Antoni, 28, was at the wheel of her stalled car with her friend, Mrs. Laino helping to push it out of the intersection at Santa Monica Blvd. and Vermont Ave. Tragically, Mrs. Laino was crushed to death shortly after midnight by Stadnik who claimed his brakes failed. Stadnik was arrested and held on suspicion of manslaughter. Photograph dated November 14, 1947.
