Det er små larver, der spinder sig ind i helt fine silketråde, som så bliver spundet sammen til større tråde. Ormene spiser kun én slags mad, nemlig bladene fra morbærbuske, og derfor har man her i Tiruvannamalai plantet mange af de buske. Mission for children in India. Slides 1990, "When I was blessed by an elephant". Jakob Rönnow: Else Krog has lots of ideas. One of these is to cultivate silk worms – small larvae spinning into tiny silk threads and then spun together to form larger threads. The worms only eat one kind of food, the leaves of mulberry bushes. That is why people in Tiruvannamalai are growing lots of these bushes. By selling silk the church is earning money for support of poor people.
