Photograph of a Certificate of Honor in recognition of the first public statue of George Washington, September 8, 1936. On the left is a picture of the statue of George Washington. He stands proud in a suit and jacket with his left hand closed around his cane and his right hand rested on the coat which is draped over a post. Next to him the certificate is printed in calligraphy with the words "Certificate of Honor, This is to certify that (blank) has contributed to placing in the Civic Center of Los Angeles the first public statue of George Washington to be erected in Southern California. Women's Community Service Auxiliary, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce".
