Description
This April 1964 postcard shows the courtyard and swimming pool of the Mansion Inn, at 700 Sixteenth Street. As the story goes, Governor Pat Brown would occassionaly dart across H Street in his swimming trunks for a quick jump into the pool and then an equally quick listen at the Music Circus, at Fourteenth and H, still soaking wet. The 51-unit garden court-style motel opened in November 1958.
