Col. William N. Selig's studio lots, two different views. Top view: shows the first studio lot in Southern California, established in 1909 by Selig, in the drying yards behind the Sing Kee Chinese Laundry at 751 S. Olive Street, between Seventh and Eighth Streets. Several months later, in the same year, Selig moved his company to a lot in Edendale. Bottom view: Photo shows Selig's lot in Edendale where he built the first official motion picture studio. Photo captions dated: October 8, 1938 and July 16, 1948.
