Description
Photograph of portable sawmills in Blue Lake, Humboldt County, ca.1930. Planks of wood are piled on the left in the foreground with thick logs just behind them. More thick logs are placed on a raised platform at center with a pile of cut wood just next to them. Behind the logs is the shingled-roof structure with a large, fenced cylinder on the left. A metal tube extends from the ground on the right with a covered area just behind. "Portable sawmills still move about furnishing the mines and mining regions with the necessary timber".
