Hugh Hardyman, 50, principal figure in the Glendale Legionnaire trial, was a spectator at the "Red Quiz," which was held at the Federal Building. A few days prior, Hardyman was called before the Federal Grand Jury in the opening phase of a nationwide investigation of American delegates to a "peace conference" in Communist China several months ago. Photograph dated February 19, 1948.
