Mayan family in the refugee camp of Cuauhtémoc, Chiapas. A woman and a man sit inside a shelter to eat with five children, one of them sits on an hammoc and another sits on the floor. Refugees in the camps have no resources to deal with illness such as tubercolosis, dengue, malaria or malnutrition. In the days following the Guatemalan attack at the nearby refugee camp of El Chupadero on April 30, 1984, one of the most violent assaults of this kind left seven refugees dead. Refugees from the camp of Cuauhtémoc fled their settlement to avoid the same fate. Familia maya en el campamento de refugiados de Cuauhtémoc, Chiapas.
