Title supplied by cataloger. Photograph caption dated December 31, 1987 reads, "Child hit by car is carried to Sheriff's rescue chopper on Angeles Crest Highway. Woman in sweater (left) is believed to be mother. Incident on Angeles Crest highway south of Red Box Junction occurred when child playing in snow on highway's side suddenly jumped onto the road and was struck by a car according to CHP officer. Driver of car was not detained. Sheriff's rescue helicopter removed child, assisted by County fire paramedics. Transported to Verdugo Hills Hospital."
