Attributed to Carleton Watkins - reasonably certain Library's collection of mammoth prints printed from negatives by Watkins.
View 1 (2005-0696). Panorama of Virginia City. Watkins no. 1102. Shows homes and buildings in the town including a school under construction, mining tailings in the foreground, hills beyond the town -- view 2 (2005-0697). Watkins no. 1101. Shows additional buildings in the town, mining equipment and tailings, and a cemetery at the right.
