View of the Golden Gate Head Dam and flume built to divert the Feather River in Butte County. Donor/Source: F 868 F 3 G 8 -Guthrie, Mining the Golden Gate and the Golden Feather. Photograph is oversized.
The Golden Gate Head Dam with main flume to the left. This system was built on the Feather River, Butte Co. to expose the river bed for gold mining by deverting the water down a flume. Late 1880's.
