Rain that flooded the Southland two weeks ago continues to take its toll in damage as weakened earth gave away in a section of Highland Park. The shifting ground forced evacuation of eight homes and wrecked an entire block of pavement on Rainbow Avenue. Cracks in the earth, which had been only two feet wide Monday night, began expanding at a rapid rate. Yesterday the cracks had widened to 15 feet in some spots. This overall view shows some of the damage on left side of photo. Photo dated: February 11, 1969.
