Description
"On June 12, 1938, Fr. William Horgan was ordained in Ireland. Below is the invitation to his ordination ceremony, June 12-13, 1938. On October 9, 1938, Father Horgan arrived in America. After serving in various positions in Woodland, Grass Valley, Placerville, and Galt, he came to Fair Oaks on April 16, 1956, serving for nearly 20 years until his retirement in 1974. In 1985, Father Horgan finally returned to Ireland." Digital scans of ephema collected for the book "Fair Oaks," published by Arcadia Publishing as part of the "Images of America" series.
