Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Carnegie Public Library, Riverside, ca.1903. The mission-style structure, with two bell towers, clay tile roof, iron accents, arches and columns has the words "Carnegie Public Library" raised from the façade on the front of the building. At least sixteen formally dressed adults congregate outside, some walking down the front steps, while others look at books on the lawn. In the foreground, on the street, to the left of a large tree, what appears to be a young girl is holding an open book while sitting on a small horse. This library was visited by President Roosevelt.
