Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated February 9, 1962 partially reads, "Jack Ferman is a man set on adding a truly artistic touch to Valley architecture. And it not only provides him with a good aesthetic outlet, but it's good business as well. Ferman is president of Ferman Builders, Inc., a Van Nuys firm specializing in the construction of apartment buildings and other major structures in the Valley. 'Most apartments being built today are adorned with huge signs, metallic gimmicks and fancy plasters in an effort to 'beautify' them,' Ferman says, 'but we take a different approach. Our apartments are decorated with original art works.'" This apartment building was constructed at 8830 Etiwanda Avenue in Northridge and designed by Max Starkman.
