Photograph article dated March 19, 1928 reads, "The "It" machine and the above apparatus which measures and photographs voice vibrations were developed by the S. C. engineering department. Pretty Ruth Wencl speaks the words "Southern California Business" into the machine, which records their vibrations on a film. Gene Sayler conducts the experiment."
