Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Buddy Rogers was an actor and a jazz musician.
Photograph caption dated April 26, 1943 reads "Lieut. (j .g.) Charles 'Buddy' Rogers of the Navy was there with Mary Pickford, his wife, to pay tribute to the marines on their 168th anniversary."
