Shown here is the Alert Drug Store located on the northeast corner of Eighth Street and American Avenue (later, Long Beach Boulevard). The store later moved to 1145 E. Tenth Street. Two men in street clothes and bowties stand in front of the building's entrance. The store has wrap around display windows, with one wall at right painted with this message: "DRUGS, STATIONERY..." The front display windows are painted with several signs on the glass, just under the windows, and on the corner of the building; which read: "Drugs, Coca-Cola, Cigars;" "A-D-S Family Remedies;" "SODA, Coca-Cola, Candy;" "Toilet Articles;" "Pay Station [Bell Telephone logo];" "Pulver Tasty Chew;" "Y-B Havana Cigars;" and "Kodak Finishing."
