Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Title supplied by cataloger.; Image is a reproduction. Dilek Turumtay Dikicioglu was born in Turkey in 1955 and studied at Gazi University in Ankara. She came to Portland, OR, in 1979 to train at Tektronix, a company that designed test and measurement equipment. She moved to Los Angeles in 1981 and became owner of Petcon Technologies, Inc., which provided service station equipment and supplies. Nuri and Enise Turumtay celebrate their 40th anniversary with their family at The Cheesecake Factory restaurant in Redondo Beach, California.
