Description
Photograph of the construction of the Pacific Electric Railroad Line through the Cahuenga Pass, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, January 1911. Tracks snake around near the edge of a mountain cliff. A steam engine puffs into the air next to a manual rail car. People can be seen on the mountains in the distance. A traffic road lies below, on which a wagon drawn by six horses can be seen. Further to the left, yet another horse-drawn cart plods up the dirt road towards the train tracks.
