Dear Sir, May I appeal through you to the women of Manchester for help in sending to the front splints, bandages, shell dressings ... and a heartrending appeal for help comes now from the dressing stations behind Verdun to which no woman can refuse to respond ... We are at present sending out about 3 miles of bandages a month. I hope your committee will see its way to help us to double our output. ... L. Haworth
