Photograph caption dated January 10, 1956 reads "San Fernando Valley Country Club's Willie Barber unwinds with all his 145 pounds on this drive in yesterday's round in the Los Angeles Open. Barber finished 'in the money' with his 288 total at Rancho Golf Course. It was brother Jerry who pocketed second-place money and was giving winner Lloyd Mangrum quite a battle for first spot in the final round."
