Description
Two gentlemen display their French outfits for 1831. The gentleman on the left wears a black double breasted redingote, buttoned tightly to emphasize his slim waist. The lapels are notched and the sleeves have slightly puffed shoulders. He wears black and white plaid trousers strapped at the foot, and black heeled boots or shoes. His silk cravat is black and he wears a black top hat, white gloves, and carries a walking stick. His long sideburns continue to chin whiskers, and he wears a mustache. Another gentleman wears a blue tailcoat, showing the back view. back details of the coat's design include two buttons, back pleats, and two flaps at the hips. His trousers are light blue and he wears black boots or shoes, white gloves, and a black top hat. He is in the process of choosing a walking stick from a group in a gold and black cane stand.
