Photograph of California Botanic Gardens, showing plant being examined by T. H. Wheeler, [s.d.]. At center, T. H. Wheeler, a retired employee of Standard Oil Company, can be seen examining a large shrub consisting of large leaves at left. Wheeler is shown wearing a dark suit with a small daisy attached to his lapel. A cigar is pressed between his lips, and he is holding cane up to the shrub in his right hand. With his left hand, Wheeler can be seen grabbing a flower or foliage from the shrub and examining it. At right, a small walkway is visible leading into the background. In the background at right, tangled shrubs sit adjacent to a building. Photoprint reads " '3 diamond' button".
