Description: Winton automobile during the Alum Rock Hill Race. The Mitchell Automobile Company sponsored an annual hill-climbing contest for Mitchell cars in the Bay Area. The cars climbed up Alum Rock Road one at a time. The two women in the race performed admirably: Gertrude Byron finished in 3 minutes and 32 seconds and Mrs. J. C. Broadie made 2 minutes and 56 seconds.
