Text applying to both photos: "Tre-centenary [sic] Celebration of the birth of William Shakespeare held in front of City Hall Sunday April 23rd 1916." Two views of speakers at the Shakespeare tercentenary celebration. Caption for Page 239 center: "S.M. Shortridge speaking, saying 'that Shakespeare brought brought [sic] home the Bacon'."
