Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated December 23, 1961 partially reads, "A lengthy battle by a Sherman Oaks housewife to obtain a three-way traffic signal at Sepulveda boulevard and Del Gado place has resulted in victory. Construction of the signal this week by the State Highway department ended a drive by Mrs. Donald Mendelson, 15515 Woodcrest Dr., that dates back to 1959... Estimating there have been some 20 accidents at the corner in the past two years, Mrs. Mendelson said accidents were caused when people tried to turn left off Sepulveda." Photograph caption reads, "Mrs. Donald Mendelson stands near new light on Sepulveda - Sherman Oaks housewife waged lone battle to obtain signal."
